The Hearing Coverage Fix We Desperately Need

As I move forward, one of my primary goals is my focus on advocacy. The impact of the Acclaim device has been life-changing, and I’m committed to helping others benefit. To support these efforts, I have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for advocacy, awareness, and to continue pushing for innovation in the hearing field.

In addition to the aforementioned, I am advocating for a key piece of legislation currently in Congress:

The Hearing Device Coverage Clarification Act.  There are two versions of the bill linked below, the House version and the Senate version.

House: Hearing Device Coverage Clarification Act (H.R.1921)

Senate: Hearing Device Coverage Clarification Act (S.983)

These bills aim to improve access to hearing devices and to classify devices like the Esteem as prosthetics and not subject to the current Medicare hearing aid coverage exclusion, making them more accessible and affordable. Currently, devices such as the Envoy Esteem are not covered under Medicare or private insurance and this is a travesty and a grave injustice.

During a recent interview with Envoy Medical’s CEO Brent Lucas, I had the opportunity to prepare a message for Congress, urging them to prioritize hearing loss treatment and expand access to these life-changing technologies.

I encourage you to contact your state representative and let them know how important it is to pass this legislation.
